Thermalright Spitfire VGA Heatsink

Thermalright has just launched a new VGA Heatsink to its Spitfire lineup that measures 147 x 123 x 154mm and weighs just 550gm.Thermalright Spitfire VGA Heatsink comes with a unique angled design. Thermalright Spitfire VGA Heatsink can provide silent passive cooling, or active cooling, by latching on 140 mm or 120 mm fans (fans not included in the package, fan-clips are). The package includes three types of heatsinks for the memory chips and VRM, all necessary retention mechanisms, including thumb-screws for tool-free installation. A syringe of the Chill Factor TIM is also included.

Thermalright Spitfire VGA Heatsink is compatible with most modern GPUs, including GeForce 7, 8 (excluding G80-based ones), 9 series (single GPU), Radeon HD 3800 series, HD 4800 series, and HD 5800 series. There is no support for GT200-based GeForce GTX 200 series. Its price and availability is yet to be confirm.

Don’t Duck Around This Player

Don’t Duck Around This Player
Quack Quack! Ok I won’t kid around this time, but I think Mac Funamizu has matured pretty much in his design sensibilities. The CD player is called Quackie, but the concept looks decent enough for the tweens who endorse stuff like the Mickey Mouse MP3 players. Quackie is thus: There’s a round body that rolls and a black speaker. The speaker is attached to the body at the axis and it rolls around the body. Simple functions of play/stop/next/back and volume up/down are included.

To pump up the volume, you roll the body so that the “beak” opens up; shutting the beak powers-off the system. Click the black speaker once to skip to the next song and click it thrice to go back.

Microsoft announced its new SideWinder mouse to much fanfare. People were impressed by the feature set, with the decent 2000 DPI maximum sensitivity, on-the-fly DPI switching and extensive macro recording.

Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse - Color Splash

Microsoft Wireless Arc Mouse features a sporty arc design and folds for portability. The wireless Arc mouse folds to about half the size of my fist and unfolds into - you guessed it - an arc. Though not especially ergonomic, it's comfortable enough for daily use. This one is a deep metallic blue, but Microsoft is offering a nice variety of colors to choose from. Four buttons make up the Arc mouse- left, right, scroll/click wheel, and a dedicated back button. The wireless transceiver fits into an indentation on the underside, and it's held in place by a magnet. The whole package fits snuggly into a pocket-shaped travel pouch supplied with the mouse.

Microsoft is coming out with four new colors for their Arc Mouse model. The four new colors are white, purple, green, and blue. There’s no technological upgrades on the new Arc Mouse, but these colors should please anyone who’s looking to style up their work/home station.

The Best Stereo Bluetooth Headsets

Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800

The main attraction of the Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 headphones is their teensy size. Weighing less than half an ounce, these headphones rely on a slender strand of cable to connect the two earbuds. Such luxury and convenience don't come cheap, though: The headphones list for $200.

In general, the headphones delivered great-sounding tracks, with crisp vocals and warm (but not overwhelming) bass. Phone call quality was mostly good, too. Unfortunately, the headset's controls are minimal: You can use the action button to turn the headset on and off; to initiate, accept/reject, and end a call; and to play or pause tunes. But you can't use it adjust the volume or skip forward or backward through tracks.

If you're willing to sacrifice some phone and music controls for an ultrasmall headset with dependable audio quality--and the hefty price tag is no barrier--the Sony Ericsson package has got the goods.

For an in-depth examination of the new generation of wireless stereo headphones, see "Next-Generation Stereo Bluetooth Headsets." For a comparison chart of the five stereo Bluetooth headsets I reviewed, see "Stereo Bluetooth Headsets Offer a Range of Strengths and Weaknesses."
